Jade symbolizes goodness, preciousness and beauty in many Asian cultures, and is considered an embodiment of the virtues of courage, wisdom, modesty, justice and compassion. Jade is believed to support happiness and harmony in family and work relationships and bring relaxation to its wearer. Jade is generally given as a gift as it is believed to bring good luck.
While Jade was widely in Art Deco jewelry, as the richness of its color and texture complimented the straight and geometric forms of the style which also favored diamonds in jewelry. This pendant probably predates the period to the Art Nouveau period with free forms and flowers. The pendant is made with 14k gold and also has a coral cabochon with a pair of pearls flanking it on either side. The pendant weighs 9 grams.
