An antique mid 19th C., , Tibetan all wool rug [pile, weft and warp] with a simple repeating geometric checkerboard like pattern with a geometric border pattern. The rug is made with vegetable dyes only and a rich mix of blues and black on a beige background. The rug measures 5ft1in x 3ft .
Variation in the color of the rug is due to the dyeing process of the wood - sections of the rug are in a deeper shade of green as the yarn used was probably from a different batch of dyeing.
