Antique Tibetan Copper Tea Warming Ewer

Antique Tibetan or Himalayan copper warming vessel of tapering cylindrical form featuring a pouring spout, swing carrying handle, repoussé decorative borders, and an unusual internal heated chamber accessed through a front opening. Constructed from hand-worked copper sheet and retaining a rich aged patina.

The perforated interior compartment suggests use as a tea- or butter-tea-warming vessel, allowing a heat source to be housed within the body while maintaining the temperature of the liquid contents. The vessel is further embellished with decorative repoussé bands and traditional Himalayan motifs.
