A finely crafted antique Tibetan offering bowl fashioned from richly figured burlwood and enhanced with hand-worked silver mounts. The bowl features a broad silver rim and an exceptionally decorative silver pedestal foot adorned with repoussé floral and scrolling foliate motifs bordered by twisted-wire detailing.
The burlwood displays warm amber and chestnut tones with attractive natural figuring that contrasts beautifully with the aged silverwork. The elaborately decorated foot elevates this example above more common forms, reflecting the skilled craftsmanship associated with traditional Himalayan metalwork.
Vessels of this type were used in both domestic and ceremonial settings throughout Tibet and the Himalayan region and remain highly sought after by collectors of ethnographic and Buddhist art.
