A rare 19th C., Indian pot - Lota made with brass and copper -(the tradition of using these-two metals together is known as Ganga-Jamuna) . These Lota's were made to hold holy water - perhaps from the Ganges and has a low foot and a spherical basethat flares open towards the mouth.The shape of the lota is very distinct and represents the lota that waters the shivlingam. These lotas are rare to come by and measuring 10 cm height X 10cm dia and weighing about 450 grams.
