An early 20th C. Tibetan antique carpet with floral patterns and made in wool. The hot pink color used in rug became very popular in the turn of the century when chemical dyes from Europe hit the Asian -Indian markets. This rug with its predominantly yellow background was made for and used by higher ranks in the ecclesiastical community and generally denoted the status of the user. The rug measures 2’8” x 5’6”.
