An antique gold plated single cup stand. This stand at 425 grams is almost two times the weight of other silver cup stands. The base is hexagonal in shape and with a octagonal scalloped base plate with the eight lucky signs on each plate. The top has two tiers with staggering panels with four of the eight lucky signs on each tier. Cup stands in silver generally have panels gilded with most of the surfaces jn silver; and a few pieces like this one were fully gilded and reserved for use for high ranking monks and officials.
